I'm back!

Decided to give this blogging thing another chance. Things are going really well here. School is coming to an end and we are expecting Grace Lillian to make her debut by May 25th. We have moved James' into a big boy room and finally finished the nursery up so I thought I'd post some pics. Not sure if anyone will still read this but Alicia has been wanting a pregnant profile so i'll include that too. Be back soon for new pics of james and his 3rd birthday pirate party!

New Post!

Yes, I know I suck at blogging. It's been forever and but we've been busy and nothing too exciting is going on. Here are a few updates...

Halloween was really fun. James was really excited about Halloween and the pumpkins and was trying to understand what it was about. However, he hated the costumes. Refused to wear anything. We had four different occasions where he was supposed to wear a costume and he refused. I bought him a Goofy costume since he loves Mickey Mouse. He thought it was funny but wouldn't put it on. Then I tried to get him to wear his dinosaur costume from last year. He put it on once then refused again. Finally the day before halloween I went to target and bought a Thomas the train outfit. He refused to wear it but I finally talked him into it. He loved it eventually and finally understand that in order to trick or treat and get candy he had to wear the costume. He made himself at home on several occasions while trick or treating and just marched right into the home instead of patiently waiting for candy.

We also went to a Texas Tech game. They are doing great this year and are currently ranked #2. I wanted James to go to experience the game but this might not have been such a good idea. It started at 7pm so I figured he would be passing out by halftime. HAHA. I gave James a tiny bit of Coke (he had never had caffeine i don't think) and with the excited crowd he was totally nuts. Screaming, yelling, bouncing, you name it. He was SO wild and even though it was 40 degrees he wanted his clothes off! He can't wait to go back again but I can. He wore me out and didn't go to sleep til 10:30 that night.

In other news, Shawn and I are excited to announce that we are expecting another baby in May 2009! We are excited about adding another Coughlon into the family. We'll see how James reacts.

I'll try to get on this more. We are heading to Nebraska for a wedding for Shawn's family. James is so excited about going on an airplane and screaming "BLASTOFF."

I can't get pictures to get on here from work so I'll do it when i get home!

New Pictures

My sister in law, Kelsey, is a really great photographer with a great camera. She takes really unique pictures and we decided to take James out last Saturday and see how we would do. Posing was difficult and he spilled Sprite on his shirt several times but I think they turned out really good. The backgrounds are just different parts of downtown Lubbock. He looks so innocent and peaceful with his blue eyes and pale pale skin but believe me, he's not. He is a good boy though and I may be the only parent to say this but I just love this age. He is just so funny and says really random things. He has an imaginary dinosaur that he loves and that follows us around and threatens to eat us. I think I'll have him be a dinosaur for Halloween if I can find a cute costume. Enjoy the pictures!

He loves his books, just like dad.

Gymnastics!

James started gymnastics a few weeks ago. I figured it would be a good way to be social and release some energy. He loves it so far. The first time he went he pitched a royal tantrum not because he didn't want to do it but because it was time to stop jumping on the trampoline and sit in circle time. He bawled hysterically the last 5 minutes of class and all the way home because they made him stop. Tonight was much better. He smiles and giggles the whole time and is so happy to be there. The class is for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year olds but since James will be 2 1/2 in about a month they let him join. He's the baby of the class although he's definately the biggest. The popsicle he gets at the end is probably his favorite part. Shawn says we have a lineman on our hands but I think he'd be a good running back or something a little more exciting!

No more studying!!!!

Just a quick update although I'm sure everyone already knows. I don't have to study anymore, neither does Shawn. What a relief as we've been in school forever. I graduated in May, became an official pharmacist July 17th after passing my boards (I was completely convinced I had failed) and now work at a small independent pharmacy where I am the only pharmacist there and absolutely love it. Shawn is a teacher and since we moved states he had to take three more tests to become officially licensed in Texas. We found out yesterday that he also passed all three (of course he did) so now we are both official. James started Montessori school two weeks ago and is doing so well. He is learning a ton including a little more edge to his already challenging 2 year old personality. Life is good in Lubbock!
